Blockhead Beerworks is gearing up for our second location in the heart of downtown La Porte, and we’re on the hunt for a standout server to join the crew. 

You’ll start training at our original spot in Valparaiso and help us bring the energy to La Porte when doors open.

Heads-up: Ideally, you're local to La Porte and cool with the Valpo commute for training.

The Role

At Blockhead, servers aren’t just taking orders, you’re part of the show. 

You’ll be welcoming guests, guiding them through our bold food & drink menu, and teaming up with your crew to deliver a top-tier experience. 

This isn’t a lone-wolf job, we run like a squad. You’ll own your tables, but everyone jumps in to help each other, so we all win.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Greet guests like you’re hosting a great party
• Recommend awesome food & drink combos (yes, we’ll train you)
• Send in accurate orders (special requests? No problem.)
• Know your stuff—our Blockhead beers, cocktails, mocktails, and food
• Help keep the place looking great (pre-bussing, stocking, resetting)
• Run food, refill drinks, support your team
• Handle payments smoothly and with a smile
• Say “thanks” like you mean it when guests head out
• Wrap up your shift with team-assigned side work

✅ What You’ll Need

• Indiana Alcohol Serving Permit (or ready to get it)
• Restaurant experience = nice, but not a dealbreaker
• A people-first mindset - you’re friendly, respectful, and easy to talk to
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to keep it together when things get busy (because they will)
• Willingness to learn our POS and food safety basics
• A team player attitude (no egos here)
