Blockhead Beerworks is opening our second location in the heart of downtown La Porte, and we’re looking for standout Bartenders to help us bring the bar to life.

You’ll train at our original Valparaiso location and be part of the opening crew that sets the tone in La Porte.

Heads-up: Ideally, you're local to La Porte and cool with the Valpo commute during training.

The Role

Bartenders at Blockhead aren’t just pouring drinks, you’re setting the tone.

You’ll craft cocktails, serve our beers, guide guests through the menu, and create the kind of experience that makes people come back on a Tuesday just because.

This is not a lone-wolf bar. We run like a squad. Servers, kitchen, and bar work together to win.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks to spec

• Maintain clean, organized bar setup

• Manage bar guests with energy and hospitality

• Communicate clearly with servers and kitchen

• Monitor guest intoxication levels responsibly

• Keep accurate tabs and handle payments smoothly

• Restock and prep bar for service

• Maintain spirits, beer, and wine knowledge

• Complete assigned side work at end of shift

• Indiana Alcohol Serving Permit (or ready to get it)

• Bartending experience preferred

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to multitask under pressure

• Cash handling & POS familiarity

• A hospitality-first mindset
